Jayashree Aravind is a disciple of Sangeetha Kalanidhi. Shri. K.S.Narayanaswamy. She has also trained with eminent Vidwans like Smt. T. Brinda and Palghat Shri. K. V. Narayanaswamy. Over the years she has widened her repertoire to include several compositions of Muttuswami Dikshithar, Subbaraya Sastri, Ramanathapuram Sreenivasa Iyengar and other composers. She is a also Grade A artiste of All India Radio.Jayashree has performed extensively in the country and abroad. Her Indian performances include prestigious venues like The Music Academy, Chennai, Indian Fine Arts Society Chennai, Swathi Festival Trivandrum, The Navaratri Mantapam, Trivandrum, to name a few. She was adjudged Best Veena artiste by both Music Academy and Indian Fine Arts society for the concerts she performed there.She has toured Europe extensively for performance, demonstrations at various locations including Switzerland, Germany, Vienna, Italy and South of France. Jayashree has worked on a Fellowship awarded by the Government of India, where she presented a thesis Tanjore Traditions in Veena Music. She also holds a post graduate degree Alankar from Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Maha Vidyalaya, where she secured the top position in her course. She has presented several informative lecture demonstrations on Techniques of Veena play and has also set full length dance drama Savitri to music which was presented in her tour of Europe for Nataeschwara school of Music and dance based in Switzerland. She has been involved with The National Centre for the Performing Arts Mumbai from 1999 to2005 where she served as Programme Coordinator. Since 2008, Jayashree has been associated with Isha Samskriti, an educational wing of Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev Isha Yoga Centre, focusing on Alternate Education Systems, where she teaches Carnatic Vocal music to the students
