Sri. R. K. Shriramkumar belongs to a family of eminent Carnatic musicians who hail from Rudrapatna, a little village on the banks of the river Kaveri in Karnataka, South India.  Had his initial lessons in violin from Vidushi Smt. Savitri Sathiamurthy,trained further in Violin and vocal music from his Grandfather  Sri.R.K. Venkatarama Shastri. Received further Guidance in Violin playing from Vidwan Sri.V.V.Subrahmanyam and in vocal from Sangita Kalanidhi Sri.D.K.Jayaraman.

His skills were further honed through the association and knowledge that he gained by accompanying  the doyens  of 
Carnatic Music.

Recipient  of many awards,shriramkumar has traveled farand wide on concert tours. His Solo performances,Lec-dems and out reach programs have also been greatly received and appreciated.
