Dr. Sri. Suresh Vaidyanathan is a GHATAM and multi-percussion exponent internationally acclaimed and respected for his in-depth knowledge of Indian rhythm and technical supremacy. 
Trained by illustrious musicians like T R Harihara Sharma, T H Vinayakaram and Dr T V Gopalakrishnan, Suresh has gained pre-eminence with his unique fingering techniques, sound modulation in and aesthetic accompaniment.  He is also proficient in a variety of Indian percussion instruments like, mridangam, kanjira, tavil, konnakkol and morsing.
Working in the company of renowned drummers and musicians in world music and jazz genres besides carnatic music for over three decades, Suresh has acquired the rich experience and authentic knowledge of the International music systems.

Suresh has performed in the company of legends Dr Balamurali Krishna, Ustad Alla Rakah, Ustad Zakir Hussain, Guruji T V Gopalakrishnan, T V Sankaranarayanan, Karaikkudi Mani, Umayalpuram Sivaraman, Tarun Battacharya, Viswamohan Bhat, Bickram Ghosh .

Suresh has been performing regularly with reputed Jazz groups like Australian Art Orchestra, Universal World music ensemble and Noisy Mama,all of jazz and world music genres, sharing the stage with Guitarists - Larry Coryell, Peter Sprague,  Pianist - Paul Grabowsky,  Trombone wizard Adrien Sherief , Saxophonists -Sandy Evens, George Brookes, Drummers Pete Lockett, Taffa Ciss, Greg Ellis, Carola Grey, Percussionists  Zohar Fresco, Vannessa Tomilnson, Alisandro Tomasitti and Composer Eero Hmeenniemi. 
Holding a Masters degree in Rhythmology and commerce from University of Madras, Suresh also composes in world music and jazz tradition. Suresh has also recorded for Pop legend Paul Simon for his recent Album So beautiful or so what

Dance Ballet MAHAKAAL by renowned Danseuse Chandralekha in 1997
Conducted the Peoples Association Orchestra of Singapore in 2001.
Coordinated and participated in the inter-continental dance music feature 
SHIFTING GROUDS held in Cologne, Germany in 2007.

Presented, KUMBHODBHAVAM, performing with 50 ghatams in a ghatamphony concert, in Chennai on March 31, 2016 to mark his 50th Birthday.
