V. Navaneet Krishnan

V Navaneet Krishnan hails from Mumbai and belongs to a family of musicians and rasikas.
Born on 30th June, 1985, he evinced a keen interest in Classical Carnatic Music right from the
age of 3. Navaneet Krishnan's music stands out for its fidelity to the Ariyakkudi -
K.V.Narayanaswamy Bani. He is a graded artiste of All India Radio and Doordarshan.
Mridangam
He started with the Mridangam, and was under the tutelage of Sri K Arjunan (father of Sri
Arjun Kumar), Bangalore, from whom he learnt the essentials of Mridangam-playing.
Vocal Music
He began his initial training in vocal music under Smt. Kamakshi Raman in Mumbai. He was
later taken under the wing of the late Sri V.Vamanan for advanced training in Manodharma
Sangeetham. After shifting to Chennai, he enrolled for some time under the guidance of Sri
P.B.Shrirangachari and Smt. Radha Viswanathan (daughter of Sangeetha Kalanidhi Smt.
M.S.Subbulakshmi). Due to his passion for the musical style of Sangeetha Kalanidhi Sri
K.V.Narayanaswamy, he was encouraged to join Smt. Padma Narayanaswamy, who has been
guiding and moulding his music for the past several years.
Veena
He briefly learnt the Veena from Smt. Mangalam Muttuswami in Mumbai, and later Smt.
R.Ramani in Chennai.
