Palghat N K Sreeram is the Son of late shri N P Krishna Iyer and Smt. G Rajalakshmi. He has learned initial lessons from Palghat late Shri. Seshamani (retired from All India Radio Artist.. Coimbatore) at the age of 9. Now under the tutelage of Mridangam Maestro Shri Tiruvaarur Bakthavatsalam.
He has accompanied in Mridangam for many music performances at various Sabhas in kerala, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Bombay etc...
He has receive many awards from various music Sabhas .... among the awards Asthana Vidwan award from Kanchi Matom is a notable one.
He is playing mridangam regularly for Chaitanya Bajan Mandali now for more than a decade.
He is a B High grade in All India radio
