Shishir began his training in Carnatic music at the young age of 5. At the age of 11, he was initiated into Carnatic saxophone. Shishir has been learning Carnatic Saxophone from his Guru, Sri Jana (Sr. Disciple of Padmashree Dr. Kadri Gopalnath), for the last three years.

He has won several awards including at CMANA, Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana, Sivan fine arts academy to name a few. Shishir has given concerts at several places in the tri-state area, such as, Srutilaya NY, Triveni NJ, TFAS-NJ, NJML and at temples including Guruvayoorappan temple NJ , Krishna Vrunda temple NJ , Sai Datta Peetham NJ, Delaware Hindu temple, Saneeswaran temple NY to name a few. Shishir also was blessed to accompany his Guru on numerous occasions during his guru   US tour. Shishir loves to play Jazz as well. He has been playing Alto Sax, Baritone Sax, and Soprano Sax in his band. Shishir is an eighth grader from Robbinsville twp.

He is also undergoing advanced vocal training under Smt. Bhavadhaarini Anantaraman (Sr. disciple of Sangeetha Kalanidhi Smt.D.K.Pattammal).
