Sri.Karthick Narayanan is a highly talented and one of the leading young mridangam artists in the field of Carnatic Music. Known for his energetic in his style of playing, Karthick is now a sought-after mridangam artist in the Research Triangle Area, North Carolina.

Having started learning the instrument at a very early age, Karthick was under the initial tutelage of Vidwan Sri. T. K. Ganapathi Subramanium. He had his advanced training in Thanjavur under Thanjavur Sri. T. K. Ramachandran and had his Arangetram (maiden performance) at the age of 11. After moving back to Madras, he is now currently under the guidance of Vidwan Chrompet. Sri G Suresh. who is a senior disciple of  Sangita Kala Acharya Kumbakonam Sri. Rajappa Iyer for the past 12 years.
 
Karthick has been awarded by  Sri Krishna Gana Sabha for his performance at the 61st Gokulashtami Festival Series. He is the title winner of Sangeeth Samraat Competition, 2016. He has won prizes in competitions held in various sabhas including The Music Academy, Madras and also has won in competitions held in academic institutions like NIT Trichy and IIT Madras.
